When Charleston, SC.–BASED GREYSTAR IRONED OUT THE DETAILS ON A monster deal to start off 2013, the firm made one of the biggest, boldest moves likely to be seen this year. In January, Greystar teamed with the Real Estate Principal Investment Area of Goldman, Sachs & Co. to buy a 27-property portfolio worth $1.5 billion from ¬Equity Residential. Parkland Development Corporation unveils plans to build The Forum at Tallahassee, a 782-bed, progressive student living apartment community in Tallahassee, Florida. The four story property will be hard to miss with over a quarter mile of frontage at 2525 West Tennessee Street. Its prime location will offer superior visibility and the convenience of being close to Florida State University, Tallahassee Community College and Florida A&M University campuses. The Forum at Tallahassee is the latest development in the Forum student living portfolio consisting of 2,274 beds. Parkland Development Corporation has developed luxury student communities in Texas, Georgia and now Florida. The fully gated community will offer elevator access to distinctive one, two, and four-bedroom floor plans. In addition, apartment homes will include 50” flat screen TV’s, walk-in closets, full size washers and dryers in laundry rooms and covered patios. The community will be professionally managed by Greystar and will offer roommate matching and an active student living program.
